In a previous post, Relieve Pain Naturally, 5 Steps, the importance of getting adequate sleep is discussed. Adequate sleep helps reduce pain by allowing the body to heal and keep hormone levels balanced. This is not all sleep does though; there are many other benefits from keeping body fat levels in check to keeping you mentally healthy and alert. This is a great post written by Brian St. Pierre that lays out a number of ways to improve sleep. Check it out. There is a lot of information, though. I recommend choosing one or two things you know you can handle and stick with and committing to them for the next eight weeks. If you sleep less than 7-8 hours per night, applying some of the principles and techniques in this article will benefit you tremendously.
